About Ultimate Drone Training

Here at Ultimate Drone Training we wanted to create courses aimed at every level, from beginner to advanced, to help those from hobbyist to commercial pilot, no matter what level you are at.

Maybe you are new to drone flying and looking to find out what drone would suit you?

Maybe you already have a drone but need some help in knowing how to plan your flight, or how to improve your pilot skills?

Maybe you’re wanting to start a business flying drones and want to know what is involved?

Whatever your level or experience, you’ll walk away with all your questions answered, and if you don’t, students of the Ultimate Drone Training Course are granted access to our Private Facebook Student Training Group where you can have direct access to us, to ask any questions you may have or have us critique your footage.

A little about us, the creators… In this course we share with you the knowledge we have gained through our experience in this industry operating drones since 2013 commercially and even longer as a hobby.

Now you may be saying, I’m not looking at setting up my own drone business, I just want to focus on hobby flying so why listen to these guys who are running their own drone photography and business… well stick here I’ll tell you.

The biggest difference between hobby flying and commercial flying, is that in order to get paid, the footage has to be of a high enough standard to be approved by demanding clients, and we have to plan the flights carefully and safely to get the exact shots that our clients are after.

We are now experts at achieving this, experts at flying, experts in planning, experts in the whole operation – and it’s this information we have learnt that we will be passing on to you.

Chief Pilot, Flying & Photography Instructor

    JJ Paine

We have been operating a successful UK based drone aerial video and photography business since 2013, we’ve worked for loads of different clients, across a wide range of different projects and have filmed and flown our drones in many different countries. We’ve flown our drones and captured photos and videos, everywhere from 6 miles out to sea off the Isle of Wight, 100 miles off road into the Sahara Dessert, inside a 105,000 square meter television factory in Poland, in Canary Wharf in London and even 350 feet below sea level in one of the UK’s largest quarries. I’m the main pilot and I have over 600 commercial flights under my belt, this is roughly around 7000 minutes piloting our drones commercially, this doesn’t take into account any of the hobby or practice flying that I do as well. All these flights have been real paid jobs, for real clients, in many different locations and situations.Since our start in drone flying, during all the flights and experiences we have gained, we have streamlined and fine-tuned our whole approach, everything we do, from flight planning, maintenance, flying, editing, the whole lot…. and it’s this information we’d like to share with you, so ultimately you can fast track your learning, your flying, and get to where you want to be as quickly and easily as possible.

    Camera & Editing Instructor

    George Paine

I am the main cameraman, I’m in control of the gimbal that sits underneath the drone. It’s my role to make sure that the camera is always set up correctly, is operating correctly and that I’m capturing the photos or videos as JJ is flying the drone through the air. I have full control of the camera so I can independently move it and focus on capturing the scene or subject we’re filming whilst JJ is concentrating on flying the drone itself. I am also in control of planning the shots and movements of the drone, before we attempt any flight. Planning is key in ensuring good quality, interesting shots are captured. I am also a professionally trained cameraman and editor, with a degree in Television Production and 8 years experience working in the Video Production industry. We’ve flown in some pretty amazing places since we set up our drone aerial photography and video business, and with this comes a whole ton of experience. Experience in planning & organising locations and permissions, in maintaining and servicing our drones, in safely and successfully operating them, and in everything that comes after the flight, editing the photos and videos, supplying them to our clients and so on... and it's this information we'd like to share with you.
