Q: Do I receive a licence when I've completed the course?
A: We are not currently an NQE accredited by the CAA so there is no certified qualification at the end of our course. If you're looking at operating commercially then you will still need to go through the usual process, ground school, flight test, operations manual, apply to CAA for Permission for Commercial Operations etc. We as pilots hold Licences and have had our PfCO since August 2013 and it's from this experience we have built this course. What the course can offer, bar the commercial qualification at the end is a huge amount of detail and learnings and experience that we have gained throughout operating our drones commercially over the past 4 years. And it's this knowledge and experience that we're passing on to all our students, which will help fast track your learning, better your pilot skills etc plus learn how to safely fly and efficiently plan flights etc. This course is a great add on if you already have a qualification, or if you're starting out, are a novice pilot, or are flying as a hobby, you will be sure to get tons of valuable information and tips to help wherever you are in your drone adventure

Q: Will I be able to download the material so I can refer to it anywhere and off line?
A: Unfortunately at present the videos are not downloadable. This is to just to prevent the videos being shared without permission. It helps us keep control over the videos being downloaded and shared for free - by being able to maintain and control an online community of students with their own dedicated access.

Q: What you're offering looks amazing by the way which also makes me think why is it so cheap?
A: We want the course to appeal to a larger audience of drone pilots to try and get more people flying safely to do what we can to prevent the industry from a major incident. If we can get more people flying safely then that's ideal. We could price the course, as it has been valued for the amount of content at around the £299 mark, but that may appeal to less people, in turn not spreading the message we are trying to pass on etc. We also want to create a drone community where people can share their work, ask for advice, and again get safe flying out there and hopefully the way we have chosen to market the course at present is the way to go.

Q: What's your background?
A: As a company our background has been in corporate video production since 1989, and before that photography, and before that as a chemist. It's a small family business of which myself and my colleague/brother are now the fourth generation to carry it on. Our parents are still heavily involved, but it's just the four of us. Around 4.5 years ago we saw the technology developing in drones and specifically batteries to enable drones to enter the market to the film market. I personally built our first drone, which was a 1.2metre wide heavy lift platform that weighed around 13kg (at the time the largest in the U.K.), with this we took our qualifications and received our CAA permissions. Since then we have been flying and have amassed thousands of flying minutes commercially and many more privately. We noticed at the beginning of the year that there were a few online drone courses being developed of which the information being taught was incorrect and could actually damage the industry. We decided to put together our course, teaching the official regulations from the CAA as a lot of people find these confusing, but also to teach students everything we have learnt throughout our time in the industry working for clients and under that type of strict pressure for perfect results.
